The way we carry ourselves is the way we carry Islam to the people.

I turn on the TV and I’m amazed the type of characters they have explaining my religion to the masses. No wonder the world is confused about Islam.

We started posting these blogs up on June 13th and we are now at 70,000+ views. Alhamdulillah.

This week’s episode is about how some parents love their culture so much that even if it conflict with Islam, they will continue to practice it.

How can we complain about the situation of the Muslims if we love the parts of our culture that conflict with Islam more than we love Allah (swt)?

We can’t.

O’Donnell: “We were attacked not by a nation. And as a result of the attack and the killing of nearly 3,000 innocent people we invaded two countries and killed innocent people in their countries.”

O’Donnell: “And just one second, radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America.”

Hasselbeck: “We are not bombing ourselves here in the country.”

O’Donnell: “No, but we are bombing innocent people in other countries. True or false?”

Sometimes concentrating on the Salat (prayer) isn’t easy. You assume that Shaitan is going to distract you but it becomes even harder to focus when the person praying next to you is distracting you.

Melodi herhangi bir popüler şarkı gibi başlıyor. Klip de müzik kanallarında dönen pek çok benzeri gibi. Ancak klip bu dakikadan itibaren dinleyiciyi bir eve götürüyor. Evsahiplerinin görüntüsü ise şarkının herhangi bir popüler şarkı olmadığının sinyalini hemen veriyor.

9 gençten oluşan ko-tu isimli bir grubun seslendirdiği ilahi, video sitelerinde hergün yüzlerce tık alıyor.Bu rüzgar dünyada önce Yusuf İslam’la başladı. Ardından Sami Yusuf ile devam etti.Avrupa’da yaşayan gençlerin rep ilgisi de işin içine girince ortaya işte bu tarz ilahiler çıktı.

Klipte iftar hazırlıklarıyla, teravih coşkusuyla Ramazan atmosferi anlatılıyor. 9 gençten oluşan grup, genç dinleyicilerinden tam not aldı. Klibin yayınlandığı video sitelerinin yorum bölümleri tebrik mesajlarıyla dolu.

Grup albümün tüm gelirlerini “hepberaber egitim” adli bir egitim projesine aktaracak. Popüler müzik, rep ve ilahi formunun sentezi bu parça, ilginç klibi ile müzik dünyasına farklı bir giriş yaptı. Bakalım ilerleyen zamanlarda karşımıza başka ne tür sentezler çıkacak?

It amazes me how some Muslims act one way at the Masjid and then act totally different when you see them at school or at work..

Muslim while flying. If you thought “black while driving” was bad…imagine being Muslim while flying.

If you want to learn about what Islam really is, don’t study the Muslims… study Islam.

10 minutes by Ahmed Imamovic. 1994. Sarajevo, Bosnia and Rome, Italy.

How many different things can happen for only 10 Minutes. The film won the award for the best European short film in 2002.

This short film, as its title indicates lasts only 10 minutes, but it tells a much longer story which unravels only in our imagination upon seeing the end of the film. While 10 minutes in someone’s life mean nothing, they can be fatal in another: a boy and his loving family, tragedy in a war-torn city, death and destruction. All in just ten minutes. The film follows two simultaneous story lines: one set in Rome, and one in Sarajevo, in 1994, the worst time of the war in Bosnia. Although the Rome part was not filmed on the original location, that does not take away anything from the quality of the film, it was just a symbolic element anyway. Cast is great, story is very compact and well written, direction dynamic and precise. There is nothing out of place in the film: well structured, stripped of false pathos, realistic, it is very straight forward. In other words, this is a jewel of a film, and it was not by chance that it won the award for the best European short film in 2002. 10 minutes for me is definitely one of the most moving and powerful films about wartime Sarajevo. Behind the scene: I read that the director Ahmed Imamovic, in search of Japanese for the role of the tourist, had to go to the Japanese Embassy in Sarajevo and ask one of the staff to perform in the film. Luckily for the director, the Embassy allowed one of their employees to star in the film.

The story tells how SERBS have killed civils, old people and children!
